Lainey Jacobs
Baptized by: Pastor Rafael
I’m Lainey Jacobs. I’m 14 years old, and I have been a Christian most of my life. I grew up in a Christian household and always went to church. I never doubted my faith until I was in 5th grade. I was always so anxious about everything, and my family was really struggling. For a couple years I went through a lot mentally. I never talked about it, because I never liked the attention. A couple months ago I finally realized something. I’m loved, I’m needed, I’m a lot of things, but most importantly, I’m a child of God! I like to think of it as a glow stick. God had to break me to show me why He created me, which was to glow! I had to go through those years where I was mentally exhausted, for God to show me who I am now. I know, really know, I’m a child of God! I want to turn away from all my sins, and I want my life to be for Jesus. I want to spend my life sharing the gospel, learning more, and just living for Jesus. No matter how hard life gets, no matter how lonely I get, no matter how many friends leave, no matter whatever Satan tries to tell me, I’m going to run to Jesus. I’m ready to show others that I have changed and will never go back to who I was before I really knew Jesus. And I want to say thank you to my mom, even though life has been hard, she was always there for me, and I hope she knows how much I love her. I also want to say thank you to my FCA leader and teacher Mrs. Spangle. She is someone who has always helped me spiritually. I want to say thank you to so many people who have really helped me.

In a few weeks, my mind, body and soul will be tested as I go through Army Boot Camp. I know God will have me in His hand and guide me through all the hardship I will encounter. That is why I want to be baptized so I can go in the water, leave behind my fear and sinfulness, and come out excited, closer to God.
Korey Knafel
Baptized by: Pastor Jeff and Tim
I have been thinking about baptism for a while now. Each time the opportunity came available, I wasn’t sure I was ready, but when I heard it announced this time, I finally knew I was ready to be baptized to show others I have put my faith in Jesus.
Adrianne Hollar
Baptized by: Pastor Tim
My name is Adrianne and I am a Junior at Wawasee High School. I have struggled with anxiety ever since I was a child. For the last couple years, I have let anxiety rule over everything. I wasn’t able to do little things like hang out with friends, go to school without my mom, or even go to church because every time the worship would start, so would the panic attacks. It wasn’t until my best friend Brooklyn invited me to EPIC three years ago that I really started to have a relationship with God. It was only through getting to know God that I found comfort in everything, so I didn’t have to be afraid. I am so thankful to be able to say Jesus Christ is my Savior!
Quinn Haynie
Baptized by: Pastor Tim
My name is Quinn. I’m 12 years old and I accepted Jesus in my heart years ago. I’m ready to be baptized because I’m older now and understand more of what Jesus did for me. I’m happy to be able to spend eternity with him and the rest of my family. My favorite verse is 1 Peter 5:10 “And the God of all Grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast”.
Makayla Beery
Baptized by: Pastor Rafael
Before Jesus was a big thing in my life all I had was negative thoughts. I knew about Jesus my whole life, but I didn’t have much faith in him. One day, I asked him for a sign. He was listening to my prayers. An hour after I went to Starbucks to find a note that said, “May God bless you richly today! He will help you in this tough time! I love you!” I’ve kept that note ever since that day, it changed my whole perspective in life. Ever since then I read my Bible more and been giving my life to Jesus. All I’ve had is positive thoughts. He still gives me signs to this day that he is listening. So, I’m ready to give him my full life.
Sophia Baskerville
Baptized by: Pastor Jeff
Hi, my name is Sophia. I’ve grown up knowing about God my whole life, but over time I’ve learned that faith is more than just believing, it’s a real relationship. I’ve seen God’s love in the way He gives me comfort when I feel unsure and guidance when I don’t know what to do. I’ve gone through a really difficult time my 8th grade- freshman year with deaths and just not being able to be happy. I finally have started to be happy again, and I’m so proud of myself for getting out of that hole I felt stuck in. I know that God was beside me the whole way. Today I’m choosing to be baptized because I want to follow Jesus for myself and live my life for Him. I’m thankful for the people who’ve helped me grow in my faith and for the way God has been with me every step of the way. I’m excited to see how He continues to shape my life from here.
Alexander Denney
Baptized by: Pastor Jeff
My name is Xander. I know Jesus loves me because He is always there for me. When my brother was in the hospital, I felt so scared. I prayed every day, and I felt God watching over him. I know God will never leave me alone in the darkness. I’ve said yes to Jesus, and I’m excited to follow Him forever!

I was first introduced to God and Jesus as a young kid when I went to church with my grandma. My grandma was a big part of my life growing up. When she passed away, it caused me to question Jesus. The death of my grandma also affected my home life and created challenges that made me question why God would let this happen to me. My senior year, things began to change when I met my wife Alisha. She got me to go to church with her, which rekindled my belief in Jesus. Though we had our own struggles and broke up, Jesus kept bringing us back together. In 2016, we got married and started going to church again where I started feeling a connection to growing in Christ. When my father passed away a few years ago, I started struggling with my belief again, but my wife urged me to lean into Jesus instead of pushing Him away. Since then, my connection to Jesus has only grown, and I have accepted Him as my Lord and Savior.

Baptized by: Pastor Jeff
The reason I want to be baptized can be summed up in four words and a short statement:
“I have had enough.”
Even though I have been beyond blessed with a supportive and loving family, I wanted the world and more! It did not matter if I overdosed, my relationships were destroyed, my family was brokenhearted and disappointed in me time and time again… My ego, pride and hatred toward myself and God controlled every move I made. Off and on there were years of stability and closeness to God. However, I always circled back to self-hatred and self-destructive patterns. After becoming a shell of a person, chained down by many forms of addiction for over 19 years, I told God to show Himself to me. If He really was such a loving God, why wouldn’t He just let me go, let me rot, and leave me be? Did I not deserve such fate? Certainly so, but God would never let me stay in such anger and depression. He showed Himself through conviction and shame, through the undeserving love given to me day in and out, being blessed with my children, family and friends. Now, I can sum up every day with “I can never have enough of God, Jesus and His blessings and mercy.”
